Below are the BBC Elite Galaxies that I have created using simulated backgrounds (Tyro - see links in later pages) together a project using the Codea package on an iPad (details in links). A video below these images shows the planets superimposed on these backgrounds, using freely available data data on the internet (again see references in links). The video also shows the project tools in a Galaxy Selector and a display panel showing the data for each planet as they are selected by touch on the iPad screen. These Galaxy images can be downloaded, they are all at a resolution of 1024 x 768. This method of building up the Galaxies is a backup from the data derived. I hope later to derive the same data directly by Procedural Generation - as did Bell and Braben.
